Hello again! More fall treats this Sunday, including a savory option in addition to the usual sweet ones. The menu will include apple turnovers, pumpkin walnut muffins, pear cream scones, strawberry cream scones, ham and cheese turnovers, vanilla cupcakes with lemon curd, and possibly a surprise galette. Show up to find out what it might be! As usual, we will have Ritual coffee, now available in both French-press and individually drip-brewed cups. Do your shopping at the Temescal farmers market, then hang out with us for the rest of the morning! We'll be out from 9 to 1, at the corner of Miles and Avon.

Greetings! This week we will have some delicious new treats, so come hang out with us on Sunday from 9 to 1. On the menu are apple custard galettes, pear cream scones, pumpkin walnut muffins, and apple spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. We will also have two options for coffee from Ritual Roasters this week -- join us for a cup and enjoy the bounty of autumn fruit!

Hello again! Cupcake flavors for this week will be lemon curd, chocolate with salted caramel, and peanut butter-chocolate. We will also have peach-cream and strawberry-cream scones, and pluot and Pink Pearl apple galettes by the slice.

Hello! Just wanted to let everyone know that while I've been missing from the Cake Ladies blog, I've been as busy as ever in real life.

The bakestand is going strong: every Sunday from 9 to 1, around the corner from the Temescal farmer's market at 438 Avon Street. We have cupcakes, cream scones with seasonal fruit, rustic fruit pies, and Ritual coffee, and now you can buy my jam by the jar (current flavors include strawberry, O'Henry peach, and Flavor King pluot). Come on the early side if you have your heart set on something in particular, because we have been selling out almost every week!

And in personal news (by way of an explanation for why I've been too busy the past few months to post here) -- my two-year-old daughter will be joined in January by a new brother! We are all very excited about it.

I will be doing my best to keep the blog updated regularly this fall, so check back to find out what our flavors will be each week... Hope to see you on Sunday!

You can now get my cakes, cupcakes, muffins, scones, and pies just OUTSIDE the Temescal farmer's market on Sundays from 9am until 1pm! 438 Avon Street at Miles in Oakland. I also feature Ritual Coffee, french-press style. Come on by, have a treat and enjoy the beautiful cobblestone garden!

Sorry for the absence. My daughter was sick.

I am back this week with APPLE MOLASSES CUPCAKES WITH CREAM CHEESE VANILLA FROSTING AND TOASTED PECANS. This flavor is all about the fall season. Its the kind of cupcake that you eat in the morning with coffee because it makes you all warm inside. I also have some PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE COOKIE CUPCAKES WITH CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING up for grabs, too.

On another note, here is a photo of a wedding cake from this past weekend. This particular cake was gluten-free.

I dropped off some applesauce cupcakes with creamy caramel vanilla frosting. I think they are yummy, but don't take my word for it. Go try one yourself.

Sorry for the late post...

The cupcakes at Ruby's GArden now are Banana cupcakes with chocolate frosting and caramel.

Delish.
And thanks for all the love regarding last week's cupcakes! That makes me very happy.
Not sure what flavor I will be dropping off tomorrow the 29th, but I will post it when I know.
My daughter just went to bed and now I must try to keep my own eyes open.

Week of August 18th Flavors!!

This weeks flavors are.......

-CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIE CUPCAKES WITH CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING.

-CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES WITH CHICOLATE FROSTING.

Oh yeah, and they are vegan, and I promise you won't know the difference. I gotta throw some love to the vegetarians once in awhile.

Last week was a hard week in the kitchen, and get this: I PUT THE WRONG NAME ON A CAKE!

Talk about humiliating. The woman was actually very forgiving, citing that it was perfect, the person she was getting the cake for and her had just gotten into a huge fight, and asked me if I could just cross out the name and write the correct name below it. I laughed out loud it was so funny and uncomfortable. Needless to say, she got some free cupcakes.

I am glad that week is done.

I know it sounds boring but, vanilla cupcakes sell. And hey, they taste great too! Creamy vanilla frosting, moist vanilla cake, all melting together in your mouth... you can't go wrong.

I came across some lovely peaches this weekend so I made some mini ginger Peach pies! They are at Ruby's Garden in Oakland. Go get some.

On Thursday I make another delivery to Ruby's Garden and this time its cupcakes: ginger Cookies and Cream cupcakes!

We hand-craft cakes and cupcakes in small batches, using local, organic ingredients when possible. We also specialize in allergen-free cakes such as gluten-free and vegan. We currently do not have a storefront, so in order to get our cakes, you must pre-order one week in advance, or you can find our cupcakes at Ruby's Garden Kidwear & Flower Shop at 5095 Telegraph Ave Suite C right next door to Genova Deli in the shopping center across the street from Bake Sale Betty's.
